I think I should like to have a New Year's Eve party, new year is a good time to celebrate, and for once I actually have something worth celebrating.

Winter nights always held the best stories told by fires built to keep the chill and the dark howl outside. Extraordindary fairytales, boogeymen, battles and tales from long long ago would be dusted off to entertain or keep children in line. And the winter solstice was the pinnacle of all the smoky magic and shadowed whispers.

It was that night that the courts of Fey, Elf and the Others that Mankind had imagined or stumbled upon would gather to celebrate their subtle regime of power and have a fete of the stuff dreams were made of. This year the frigid White Witch held the feast in her spacious ice cavern-hall, a masquerade of sorts. Tables lined the edges with elegant delicacies and drink of the Third Kind and crystal everywhere reflected the flickering candles held in silver candelabra embedded in the frozen translucent walls. The chatter and laughter of the people in elegant costumes and ornate masks of every style imaginable, mixed with the silvery tunes of the unworldy orchestra, eating, gossiping or dancing.

What: Flying South for the Holidays- or, at least, to Australia.
When/Where: Backdated to after Mattie's post yesterday, first the White House in J's bedroom, then Lord Howe Island, Australia.

J had been on his way towards a breakdown for most of the week, with the education summits, and the Health care summits, and the meetings... This whole leadership thing had come a long way, in two millenia. He needed a bit of a break. Thankfully, he had plenty of support from his staff- even if a lot of them tended to be overworked as well. Part of the reason he was bringing Mattie along; she had the same schedule he did, the same pressures. More, maybe, considering she was teh one putting herself in danger on his account. He'd sworn to himself he wouldn't have this again- people he was that responsible for.

But then, she was different. And... that was part of it, too. He couldn't deny he'd been falling for Mattie, hard, since she started working for him. Even over the chaos of the last year, she was always willing to listen to him, take the time out to sneak him off somewhere when he needed it. Like now. Eventually, they were going to have to talk about it. But for now, he needed to remember just what he needed, for a week away. The dangers of having people pack for you, for much of your life.

He was debating the merits of his sandals, when Mattie was announced at the door. "Yeah, man, let 'er in,"

After John said that he'd be by to pay her back for all of those drinks that he owed her, Zee laid back on her bed and sighed. She didn't know what the hell she was getting into. This weird thing that she'd tried with John hadn't exactly worked before, she didn't know why it would now. They were both better off just shagging each other and drinking and that was it. But she was really just.. lonely. And homesick. She missed her house so much. Just being in Gotham and well everywhere else. Sometimes she really hated this place. At least with Stephen, it had felt like a home. Now she just felt like she was back in a motel. Which she supposed, technically she was. Maybe a bit better than a hotel room, but not by much.

Staying there for a moment, she finally got herself off the bed and got dressed properly this time in case they were going out later or something. Neither of them liked to stick around inside for very long after all.

I love this time of year.

This time of the year bores the CRAP out of me. People get all truthful and lovey. Can't we have Halloween back? I like Halloween. Anything where slutty ladies have an excuse to dress up like a slutty nurses and ask to take my temperature, is much better than holiday cheer.

So. If everyone tangentially related or soon to be related to the Winchester family (that includes Torii and any blokes you girls might currently be entangled with) could let me know where they're planning to spend their Christmas holiday, I'd be grateful. I did promise I would attempt to feed the entire crowd, though I make no promises about it actually being my cooking. Likely I'll kidnap and beg Marco Pierre White, if he exists in this world. At any rate. Roll call, please?

Gifted with the ability to move in an instant, Alexandra did just that and appeared just around the corner from the coffee shop that her new friend Charlie had mentioned.

As she came around the corner, the clothing she'd been wearing melted away to something new and more fitting with the Los Angeles crowd. A pair of sunglasses appeared on her head and she lowered them over her eyes, only to put them back on her head when she entered the shop.

She gave a deep breath and looked around. She wasn't sure Charlie had even arrived yet, but she saw a man by himself. With nothing to lose, she walked up and asked, "Charlie?"

I've decided that it is time to leave the game. I just can't seem to have time for it enough for my own personal liking and would rather leave my two characters open for someone who is able to play with them more! I had fun while I was here though!

I would like to assure the students and staff of Taunton that the culprit behind the bombing has been apprehended. The school is quite safe, and will reopen after the holiday break.

When the term begins, professors will have the opportunity to nominate senior students to become prefects. Leadership is an important quality to nurture in young students.

In the meantime, know that my door is open. Enjoy the holiday.

He was sitting at the bar, an empty seat on either side of him. He had his coat thrown across one, and his elbows up on the bar. He watched the door via the mirror over the bar, his cop instinct keeping a eye on the entire bar behind him. He wasn't paranoid, per se, but he was cautious. No one here knew he was a cop, but one could never be too careful in a bar like this.

He was finally waiting for someone. Karrin, she'd said her name was. She seemed nice enough. He hoped she wasn't going to stand him up. Wouldn't be the first time, if she did. Probably wouldn't be the last, either. But she had replied to his post, and she'd seemed genuine.

He was just so tired of being alone. He hadn't come across anyone he knew in the months he'd been in this place, this alternate universe. He had no idea why he was here, or anything. He had been drifting along, little more than surviving. He needed to do something, before he went mad.

Hopefully meeting Karrin would be the first step toward doing something.

I wish to post something, but I know not what to post. Perhaps I shall read a book instead.

I hate drinking alone.
